US Zip codes (Beta)

This feature is currently in Beta. This feature is particularly useful when authorities declare a civil emergency in a specific area due to a natural disaster. In such situations, blocking calls to U.S. or Canadian phone numbers based on ZIP codes become an important step to prioritize emergency communications and avoid non-essential outreach.

You can block calls to a U.S. ZIP code only when the ‘ZIP code’ header is defined in Step #6: Map Source of U.S. ZIP Code. If the ZIP code source is not specified in the field mapping, the ZIP-code block will not be applicable to contacts in any campaigns using that mapping.

You can block a ZIP code for a specific duration or schedule. When a ZIP code is blocked, the dialer will skip phone numbers associated with that area. Once the scheduled period ends, the system automatically unblocks the ZIP code. You can also manually unblock or reset a ZIP code at any time if required.

Follow these steps to block a US ZIP code.

1. Navigate to Voice campaigns administration section and click US ZIP codes. The screen will display all the ZIP codes, timezone, state and so on.
2. Enter the ZIP code in the search box to filter the ZIP code
3. From the ellises menu of the respective are a code and click Block

5. A popup screen appears to configure how long the ZIP code should be blocked.
   1. Status: Enable to block the ZIP code and configure the options that are displayed.
   2. Block start date: Enter the start date from when the dialer stops calling the phone numbers for blocked ZIP code.
   3. Block start time: Enter the start time from when the dialer stops calling the phone numbers for blocked ZIP code.
   4. Block end date: Enter the end date after which the dialer starts calling the phone numbers for unblocked ZIP code.
   5. Block end time: Enter the end time after which the dialer starts calling the phone numbers for unblocked ZIP code.
   6. Reason for block: Enter the reason to block the ZIP code.
      
      

6. Click Save.

The dialer will not call the phone numbers falling in the blocked ZIP code.
