US/Canada phone area codes

During natural calamity US and Canada has strict regulations for business not to contact the customers for un-important calls. It is mandated by the government not to call the customers when they are going through emotional distress. Hence, blocking calls to U.S or Canada phone numbers based on area codes during a natural calamity is an important strategy to prioritize emergency communication and avoid non-urgent calls.

When an area code is blocked, the dialer will not call the phone numbers that are falling in that area.

Follow these steps to block the area code.

1. Navigate to Voice campaigns administration section and click Block calls for US/Canada Phone area codes.
2. The screen will display all the area codes, timezone, state and so on.
3. Enter the area code in the search box to filter the area code.
4. From the ellipses menu of the respective are a code and click Block/unblock

5. A popup screen appears to configure how long the area code should be blocked.
   1. Status: Enable the status and configure the options that are displayed.
   2. Block start date: Enter the start date from when the dialer stops calling the phone numbers for blocked area code.
   3. Block start time: Enter the start time from when the dialer stops calling the phone numbers for blocked area code.
   4. Block end date: Enter the end date after which the dialer starts calling the phone numbers for unblocked area code.
   5. Block end time: Enter the end time after which the dialer starts calling the phone numbers for unblocked area code.
   6. Reason for block: Enter the reason why an area code is blocked.
      
      

6. Click Save.

The dialer will not call the phone numbers with area codes that are blocked.
